WATCH OUT – MHS REPORTERS ARE ABOUT!
January 21, 2008 at 10:19 am | In Termly Tongue Archive | Leave a CommentYear 8 students at Maryhill decided to ditch the pens and exercise books before Christmas and instead reach for cameras and mics!
Our very first Media Day saw every Year 8 student use our media equipment to produce their very own TV news report. Their task was work in groups to create a news report on a fictional road accident. The report had to last at least two minutes and include studio link, location report – not to mention using official statistics about national road accidents.
Running over two days, the Year 8s had great fun and all students completed their reports to the deadline.
Feedback from students included:
“I was really scared to go in front of the camera before.”
”I learned loads of new things.”
“Time is precious – you should use your creativity.”
